Attention Keller Community! The Keller Clay Target Team recently participated in the DFW Championship 50/50/100 Tournament held at Ellis County Sportsman’s Club in Waxahachie, TX, and they have some exciting news to share!
Keller brought 13 athletes to the tournament, where they competed against 260 youth athletes from 23 different teams across North Texas. The competition was fierce, and the stakes were high. However, the Keller Clay Target Team showed up and showed out, ultimately finishing in 2nd Place, only 13 targets behind the 1st Place team out of a total of 1000.
Not only did Keller as a team perform incredibly well, but several individual athletes also brought home some impressive awards. Hunter Barber placed 2nd in Men's Varsity HAA (Highest All Around) in the Northwest League and 3rd in Men's Varsity HAA in the DFW Championship. Ethan Fuller placed 4th in Men's Varsity HAA in the Northwest League. Garrett Kelly placed 1st in Men's Varsity HAA in the Northwest League and 4th in Men's Varsity HAA in the DFW Championship. Xander Morgan placed 1st in Men's Varsity HAA in the Northwest League, and Jake Wright placed 1st in Men's Junior Varsity HAA in the Northwest League and 3rd in Men's Junior Varsity HAA in the DFW Championship.
These HAA winners for the Northwest League each received a buckle for their accomplishments in League shoots throughout the entire season!
But the success of Keller's Clay Target Team didn't stop there. In the skeet competition, Keller Senior/Varsity athlete Garrett Kelly shot a perfect score of 50 out of 50, while Hunter Barber and Xander Morgan both shot a total of 49 out of 50. In trap, Hunter Barber led the way with a score of 48 out of 50, followed closely by
Michael Spencer with a score of 46 and Autry Clark with a score of 44, each out of 50 targets.
Finally, in sporting clays, Xander Morgan led the charge with a score of 94 out of 100.
This is an incredible accomplishment for the Keller Clay Target Team, and we want to congratulate them on their success! They have worked incredibly hard this season, and their dedication and passion have paid off. They have made their school and community proud, and we are excited to see what they will achieve in the future. So let's give them a round of applause and show them some love, Keller Community! and Autry Clark, both with a score of 44 out of 50. Finally, in sporting clays, Xander Morgan led the charge with a score of 94 out of 100.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you about the incredible performance that the Keller Clay Target Team put on at the Texas SCTP March Madness 200 Tournament at Fossil Point shooting grounds on March 25, 2023.
With 14 athletes competing, every single one of them brought their best to the range and showed off their incredible skills.
And the result? Keller Clay Target Team came in 2nd place overall out of 18 teams from all across North Texas, only 7 targets behind the 1st place team. It was an incredibly close competition, but Keller fought hard and showed what it means to be a champion.
In the Junior Varsity category, there was a star in the making. Jake Wright, representing our team, showed why he is a force to be reckoned with. He came in 1st place in Super Sport and was tied for 1st place in Sporting Clays. It was an intense shoot-off that lasted three rounds, but he left it all out on the range.
Now, let's talk about the top athletes from Keller Clay Target Team.
On the team’s performance, Dawson Myers was top shooter in Senior/Varsity for Sporting Clays with an impressive score of 94. Hunter Barber, Garrett Kelly, and Corey Burns also had outstanding performances, with each of them scoring 89 in Senior/Varsity for Sporting Clays. In the Super Sporting category, Jake Wright was again the star of the show, taking 1st Place in Senior/Jr. Varsity with a score of 93. Hunter Barber, Xander Morgan, Will Altom, and Garrett Kelly all scored 91, 89, 89, and 89 respectively.
