Coach Moschetti is moving the Keller Clay Target Team to an INVITATION ONLY format for ALL athletes for next season. The team will have two programs for the new season: COMPETITIVE and RECREATIONAL.

We will announce a Parent’s Meeting of all invited athletes in early September.

PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS

You DO NOT have to attend Keller High School to join the Keller Clay Target Team. We have members from all over Keller ISD, even home-schooled athletes.
Prospective members will be contacted by a coach during mid-to-late-August.
Team TRYOUTS for prospective members will occur on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. More details on this will be announced.
Tryouts for the team are By Invitation Only. Tryout invitations will be sent out by the 3rd week in August.

KELLER CLAY TARGET TEAM PROGRAMS

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

The Competitive team is moving to an EVALUATION and then INVITATION ONLY format for all competitive athletes.
Competitive athletes should continue to sharpen their skills and practice throughout the summer. Your TRYOUTS event in August will reflect your summertime shooting practice habits.
Athlete evaluations, selections for tournaments, and ranking within the Competitive team will correspond to ongoing team practice attendance and your shooting performance.
The team will implement attendance requirements for practice to be competition eligible.
The first Competitive team practice is scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 1st, 2022.

RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

The Recreational team is meant to be fun, low pressure, and low expectations for attendance. Assistant Coaches and any parent volunteers will continue to work with Coach Moschetti to ensure they follow his teaching model.
The Recreational team provides a channel for recreational shooters to be a part of the program but not be encumbered by the pressure to participate in competition. Recreational athletes will remain part of the Keller Clay Target Team.
The Recreational team will be available for all team members that have not been invited to the Competitive team.
The Recreational team will practice on a separate schedule from the Competitive team.
Recreational Team practice is expected to be at least twice per month. This will give new shooters an opportunity to learn the fundamentals, the different shooting disciplines, and how to safely handle their firearm.
If a Recreational athlete wants to compete, they would need to receive an invite from the head coach to the competitive team practices.
The first Recreational team practice is scheduled TBD.
